AI Interactive Workshop for Children and Teenagers

In celebration of Children's Day, Data Science Nigeria is organizing an event for young kids & teens themed ”How to start a future in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence,” the event brings together, young people who have learned basic IT skills to share their learning experiences with their peers. This will serve as an inspiration to other children who would like to venture into Software Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, and other IT areas, thus increasing the number of STEM enthusiasts who will learn new skills and be prepared to solve global challenges.

Joshua Agboola 11-year-old Joshua Agboola is a Programmer, Future Skills Activist, YouTuber, and Speaker using several languages and frameworks. Considered a prodigy and tech polyglot, he has built a few games, apps, and websites to his credit. More recently, he won the grand prize for the MTN MPulse tech Hackathon with a pitch for Kagukar, a voice-activated educational app powered by artificial intelligence.
Joshua has been called to speak at several physical and online tech conferences including Techpoint, ICTEL Expo, Rise Network Conference, Brace Technology Conference, and the Swiss Cognitive Commonwealth Conference. He has been featured on First Bank’s First-class series, on the TVC News spotlight documentary. They have also featured him in the MTN mPulse Planet magazine, Businessday, Vanguard, The Nation, AIT, NTA, LindaIkeji TV, and Nairaland. Joshua sees possibilities in using technology to solve the world’s many pressing challenges and is passionate about getting young people to embrace tech skills early.
He is the founder of Joshfortech, a company that seeks to provide knowledge and skill empowerment services, as well as web and app solutions to businesses and individuals. Joshua is involved in advocacy for the teaching of tech skills to young people early. He is a knowledge coach on Joshfortech, his YouTube channel where he teaches technology skills in an easy and fun to learn manner.
Bhavishyaa Vignesh Bhavishyaa Vignesh is a 10-year-old STEM and Space enthusiast. She began learning about technology at 7 with an active interest in coding. She has won several international and national level STEM and coding challenges and has been featured as the youngest participant in the NASA Space apps challenge. She is a certified Scratch Coder, HTML/CSS developer, and a certified Mobile App developer. Summayah Adegite-HashimSumayah Adegbite is a 13-year-old mobile and web developer. Her interest in tech began at 5 and her interest in technology led her to start coding at 9. Emmanuella Mayaki. Emmanuella was born on the 7th of January 2009. Her journey into ICT began when she was 7 years old, two years on, and at age 9, she got a diploma in Desktop Publishing, Advanced Excel, Adobe Page Maker, Advanced PowerPoint, and CorelDraw in 2016. In 2018, Emmanuella enrolled to study Web Development and Graphic Design at NIIT and also enrolled for Mobile App development at Tech24 where she developed her personal mobile app, as well as designed and hosted her own website, known as Emma’s ICT Academy. She is knowledgeable about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, PHP, MySQL, Graphic Design, Java, and Python.
Emmanuella aspires to become a Machine Learning Engineer. “Ï have knowledge on modern software such as Eclipse which is used to program Java applications,” She says.
